Michael Ruane (* 1987 or 1988 ) is a professional American poker player .

Poker career

Ruane is from Maywood , New Jersey . At the beginning of his poker career, he played exclusively online poker with his twin brother and their younger brother . After the so-called " Black Friday " on April 15, 2011, Ruane moved around with other poker players and lived temporarily in Malta , Costa Rica and Montreal . He then returned to New Jersey and has lived in Hoboken ever since . Ruane has also been taking part in renowned live tournaments since 2011 .

Ruane was the end of June 2011 for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and occurred in two tournaments of the variant No-Limit Hold'em in the money. In March 2012, he finished 30th at the main event of the European Poker Tour in Campione d'Italia for 13,000 euros in prize money. At the 2016 WSOP , Ruane reached the final table of the main event with the fifth-largest chip stack , which was played in November 2016. He was fourth and received a prize of more than 2.5 million US dollars . In July 2017 , Ruane had another good run at the WSOP Main Event and reached the seventh day of the tournament. There he was the last player to drop out before reaching the final table and for his tenth place received prize money of around $ 825,000. At the beginning of December 2017, Ruane took 15th place at the Main Event of the World Poker Tour at the Hotel Bellagio in Las Vegas, endowed with more than 60,000 dollars.

Overall, Ruane has earned more than $ 3.5 million in poker playing live tournaments.
