Michael Troy Worth (born January 13, 1965 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor . He gained fame as an actor through his martial arts fights in various action films and series.

Life

Michael Worth has German and Indian roots. He grew up in Chesapeake Bay before his parents moved him to Northern California. Worth made his first short film at the age of 10, which was shot with a Super 8 camera that his mother gave him as a present.

In his teens he made other short films and had his first small roles in films and television series, such as in 1985 in Time of Retribution . As an adult, he moved to Los Angeles and lived with his dog in his truck for half a year. In order to earn money, he worked in all kinds of jobs e.g. B. in construction.

Worth got his first major role in 1991 in the action film Final Impact , which was shot within 18 days. He played a young martial artist who is trained by Lorenzo Lamas . The magazine Variety then described him as a "very promising young artist". He then acted in a few low-budget films , such as the 1993 martial arts film Karate Tiger 7 alongside Martin Kove , before he got one of the leading roles in the action series Acapulco HEAT , through which he gained greater notoriety. In 1995 he was in discussion for the role of Robin in the comic book version Batman Forever , which ultimately went to Chris O'Donnell .

In 2003, Worth wrote for the first time in the movie Ghost Rock , in which he played one of the leading roles. He wrote, directed and played the title role for the 2005 film Killing Cupid . In 2008 he wrote the screenplay for God's Ears . The film premiered at the Method Fest Independent Film Festival. Worth plays the lead role as an autistic boxer who falls in love with an erotic dancer. He won two categories at the New York VisionFest.

Worth has a black belt in Tang Soo Do . He was married to the model Erika Nann in the late 1990s, before that he had a brief relationship with his fellow actor Alison Armitage, whom he met at Acapulco HEAT .
