Michael von Burg (* 1977 in Manhasset, New York ) is a Swiss film and theater actor.

Michael von Burg completed his training in 2000 at the Zurich Theater School (today ZHdK ) with a diploma in acting. First work followed at the Zurich Theater School, a. a. directed by Christian Schlueter and Samuel Schwarz . At the same time, Michael von Burg worked as a guest at the Lucerne Theater and played Sandro in his first film role in the feature film Stille Liebe (director: Christoph Schaub).

His first permanent engagement was in 2001 as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet under the direction of Peter Dehler at the Schwerin State Theater . During this engagement Michael von Burg also played the role of Billy Keats in PORT at the Hamburg Thalia Theater under the direction of David Bösch . The piece was created in coproduction with the Salzburg Festival . In 2005 Michael von Burg von Theater heute received a nomination for Young Artist of the Year for this role.

In 2003 Michael von Burg also played Martin in the feature film Men Like Us (director: Sherry Hormann ).

The move to the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Göttingen took place in 2005, where Michael von Burg made his Göttingen debut with the role of Don Carlos in Don Karlos . Other roles included a. In 2018 he also worked as a guest at the Theater an der Effingerstrasse , where he played Oskar Matzerath in Oliver Reese's stage version of the Tin Drum , directed by Markus Keller .

Michael von Burg has been an ensemble member at the Theater Kanton Zürich in Winterthur since 2016 . He lives in Zurich.
