Mikhail Sjamjonau (wrestler)

Michail Sjamjonau , Belarusian Міхаіл Сямёнаў , Russian Михаил Владимирович Семёнов / Mikhail Wladimirowitsch Semjonow, (born July 30, 1984 in Minsk ) is a Belarusian wrestler . He won a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games and was Vice- European Champion in 2009 in the Greco-Roman style in the lightweight.

Career

Mikhail Sjamjonau began wrestling as a teenager in 1994. He belongs to the Dynamo Minsk sports club and, with a height of 1.68 meters, wrestles lightweight (weight class up to 66 kg body weight). He is a student and is trained in his club by Anatoly Kasawzew and Oleg Mitsiko. Since he was the Belarusian national relay of wrestlers in Greco-Roman. He is looked after by Kamandar Madschidow and since 2008 by Gennady Sapunov .

His international career began in 2003 when he was used in the bantamweight division of the Junior World Championships (Juniors) in Istanbul , but only finished 27th after two defeats there. Even at the 2004 Junior European Championship in Murska Sobota in Slovenia , he did not make it into the front of the field. After all, he came there in featherweight after a victory over Eric Buisson from France in 18th place.

From 2005 he has been used regularly at international senior championships. But he could not initially place himself in the front field. In the spring of 2008, the former long-time head coach of the Soviet national wrestling team (Greco-Roman style) Gennady Sapunov, who last worked in Turkey , took over the training of the Belarusian wrestlers in Greco-Roman with Commander Madschidow . Style. From this point on, Mikhail Sjamjonau has seen a huge leap in performance. This was shown when he qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing with a 3rd place after the European Championship in 2008 in Ostia near Rome . He also performed excellently at the international tournaments in Istanbul and Dortmund .

At the Olympic Games in Beijing he was also in excellent shape and won the lightweight with victories over Alexander Kazakewitsch from Lithuania , Ali Mohammadi from Iran , a defeat against Steeve Guénot from France and victories over Alain Milián from Cuba and Darchan Bajachmetow from Kazakhstan deservedly the bronze medal . By the way, for this medal he received US $ 30,000.00 from the Belarusian Wrestling Federation and another US $ 3,000.00 from the Chinese supplier company for the Belarusian team.

Michal Sjamjonau also fought very successfully at the European Championships in 2009. He defeated in Vilnius in the lightweight Frederick Ekström from Denmark , Sharur Wardanjan from Sweden and Damian Zuba from Poland , before he lost in the final battle against Ambako Watschadze from Russia and thus became vice European champion .
