Career

As a ski jumper

Doležal started at the ski flying world championship in 1996 on the Kulm , where he was 35th, for the first time in an international jumping competition. A short time later, in early March 1996, he was able to achieve his first World Cup points in Harrachov , also with a ski flying . After that he competed regularly in the World Cup. In 1998 he again took part in the Ski Flying World Championships in Oberstdorf , where he was 35th again. At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano he was able to place his first result among the top ten at an international competition with an eighth place on the large hill. In the winter of 1998/99 he only started in a few World Cups, but took part in the 1999 Nordic World Ski Championships in Ramsau . In the following winter of 1999/2000 he was able to achieve several World Cup points, such as two tenth places at the Four Hills Tournament in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Innsbruck . With a 27th place in the overall World Cup ranking, this season was his most successful. At the Ski Flying World Championships held in Vikersund in February 2000, he finished 32nd. He also successfully took part in the Summer Grand Prix 2000 and was able to achieve his best result in a first-class competition on August 12 with a fifth place in Villach . In the following seasons, his performance deteriorated and he rarely made it into the second round. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2001 he was 38th on the normal hill and only narrowly missed the second round on the large hill in 31st place. In November 2001 he started in Kuusamo for the first time in the second-rate Continental Cup . Although he did not find his form there or at the following World Cup competitions, he took part in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . There he could not qualify for the competition on the large hill and was 50th and last on the normal hill. After that, Doležal mostly competed in the Continental Cup and only got sporadic appearances in World Cup and Grand Prix competitions. Nevertheless, he was called up for the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme , where he finished 39th on the normal hill. Until the end of his career in 2007, he continued to take part in the Continental Cup, but was rarely able to achieve good results.

As a ski jumping trainer

On March 24th, 2019, the Polish Ski Association announced that Doležal would inherit Stefan Horngacher as head coach of the Polish national team. Before that, he had already worked for three years as an assistant trainer and in charge of equipment in the Polish senior squad.
