Christina and Michelle Naughton

The twin sisters Christina and Michelle Naughton (born September 2, 1988 in Princeton ) are an American piano duo .

Life

Raised in Madison , Wisconsin , the twins initially received individual piano lessons from their mother. They first made music with an orchestra when they were nine or ten years old. They studied at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia - taught by Gary Graffman - and at the Juilliard School in New York .

In September 2008 Christina and Michelle Naughton made their duo debut with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington . Further concerts with orchestras in the USA followed. a. with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Houston Philharmonic . In 2010 she made her Asian debut with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra . The sisters have made guest appearances in Europe. a. with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra , the Philharmonic Orchestra Kiel , the North German Philharmonic Rostock , the Royal Flemish Philharmonic and the Solistes Européens .

The highlights of her concert activities also include recitals at the La Roque d'Anthéron piano festival, the Sociedad de Conciertos de Valencia, the Prague's Strings of Autumn Festival, the Ruhr Piano Festival , the Bremen Music Festival , the Rheingau Music Festival , the Dresden Music Festival , and the Kissinger Sommer and in concert halls such as the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic , the Tonhalle Zurich , the Munich Herkulessaal and the Tonhalle Düsseldorf . The conductors with whom the duo has played so far include: a. Stéphane Denève , Edo de Waart , Charles Dutoit , Emmanuel Krivine , Michael Stern and Andrés Orozco-Estrada .

Live concerts by the Naughton sisters were broadcast by Radio Bremen as well as by the North German , West German and Bavarian radio stations in addition to US radio stations. Christina and Michelle Naughton are official Steinway Artists.

In 2015 the two sisters signed an exclusive contract with Warner Classics . Her Warner debut album "Visions" with works and arrangements for two pianos by Johann Sebastian Bach , Olivier Messiaen and John Adams was released in April 2016.
