Mieczysław Kasprzycki

Mieczysław Kasprzycki (born December 13, 1910 in Ostrau , Austria-Hungary ; † October 21, 2001 in Krynica-Zdrój ) was a Polish ice hockey player and coach .

Career

Mieczysław Kasprzycki began his career as a hockey player in Czechoslovakia with KS Vítkovice and Slavia Prague . He then played in 1936 and 1937 in Poland for the Śląskiego Klubu Hokejowego Katowice and then for Dąb Katowice , with whom he won the Polish championship title for the first time in his career in the 1938/39 season. During the attack on Poland he was taken prisoner by Germany and was then sent to Switzerland , where he was on the ice in several games for the Grasshopper Club Zurich . After the end of the Second World War he returned to his Polish homeland and initially played for KS Cracovia from 1946 to 1949 . With the team he became Polish champions in 1946, 1947 and 1949. He spent the following three years at KTH Krynica , with which he won the Polish championship title for the fifth and last time in his career in 1950.

From 1952 to 1955 Kasprzycki worked as the coach of the Polish national team and looked after them at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo .

International

For the Polish National Hockey Kasprzycki participated in the Winter Olympics in 1936 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and in 1948 in St. Moritz , as well as at the World Championships in 1939 and 1947 in part. Between 1936 and 1952 he played a total of 35 internationals for Poland.
