Miguel Bernad

Miguel Anselmo Azcona Bernad (born May 8, 1917 in Ozamis City , † March 15, 2009 in Iligan City , Philippines ) was a Filipino clergyman , author , university professor , historian , journalist and critic .

Life

Bernard was the son of the first governor of Misamis and later members of the House of Representatives for the second electoral district of Misamis, Anselmo Ledesma Bernand, and Spanish , American and cebuanischer descent.

After attending school, the deeply religious decided Catholic , priest to be, and studied at the Yale University , where he earned a Philosophiae Doctor acquired (Ph.D.). Then he joined the order of the Jesuits .

He then became editor-in-chief of "Philippine Studies", the quarterly journal of the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and later founding editor of the official journal of Xavier University, "Kinaadman", in which he not only published the epic of Mindanao , but also specialist articles on the History, literature, culture and the arts of Mindanao.

He was also a longtime professor of literature at Ateneo de Manila University as well as Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan . He was also visiting professor of literature at the National University and the Tamkang College of Arts and Sciences in Taipei .
