Career

Mike Crowley began his active career with the Jefferson Jaguars , the ice hockey team at Bloomington Jefferson High School , for which he was active from 1990 to 1994. During this time he was selected in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft in the sixth round at a total of 140th position by the Philadelphia Flyers . After completing his high school career, Crowley won the annual Minnesota Mr. Hockey award in calendar year 1994, which honors the best high school player in the US state of Minnesota . He then began studying at the University of Minnesota and played the following three years for their team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association . In 1996 Crowley won the WCHA championship with the team. On March 19, 1996 he was given in an exchange deal together with Anatoly Semjonow to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim , in exchange Brian Wesenberg was transferred to the Philadelphia Flyers. After Crowley had also spent the following season in the team at the University of Minnesota, he was included in the 1997/98 season in the NHL squad of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Although he scored four points in eight NHL games , he was then sent to the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks , the then farm team of the Californians, in the American Hockey League until the end of the season .

There the defensive player occupied a regular place and was therefore recommended for the following season for further assignments in the NHL. The defender played 20 games for the Mighty Ducks in the NHL the following year, but the breakthrough was denied him and Crowley was then returned to Cincinnati to their farm team. After his contract in Anaheim was not renewed, he signed on August 24, 1999 as a free agent with the Long Beach Ice Dogs in the International Hockey League . The following year Crowley returned to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and played 39 games in the NHL, in which he scored eleven points. In the same season he was also active for the Grand Rapids Griffins . In the summer of 2001, he was not offered a new contract with the Mighty Ducks and signed on July 25, 2001 with the Minnesota Wild . After he suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon at the Wild training camp on October 2, 2001 , he was out for almost the entire season. Ultimately, Crowley had 22 appearances for the Houston Eros , with a balance of nine scorer points. On September 27, 2002, he declared his active career over.
