Mike Rodgers (actually Michael Rodgers ; born April 24, 1985 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American sprinter .

2008 Rogers was over 60 meters US indoor champion and fourth at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia . In the summer, the American reached sixth place in the athletics world finals over 100 meters .

The following year he drove as US champion over 100 meters to the World Championships in Berlin , but missed the finals in fifth in the semi-finals. At the athletics world finals, he reached fourth place. In 2010, Rogers won the silver medal over 60 meters at the World Indoor Championships in Doha .

At the Diamond League meeting in Eugene in June 2011, he set a new personal best and finished second with 9.85 seconds. In July Rodgers tested positive for the stimulant methylhexanamine at a training camp in Italy and was banned until April 19, 2012.

After his doping ban , Rodgers ran on June 24, 2012 in the US Trials 9.94 s, which was not enough to qualify for the Olympic Games in London. He was only fourth behind Gatlin, Gay and Bailey and is not one of the three nominated sprinters from the USA.

At the 2013 World Championships in Moscow , he reached the final after two runs under 10 seconds. There he could not quite build on his good performances with 10.04 s and was disappointed sixth. In the 4 x 100 meter relay competition, he won the silver medal together with Charles Silmon, Rakieem Salaam and Justin Gatlin . With a total of nine runs under 10 seconds, it was probably his most successful year.

Mike Rodgers is trained by Darryl Woodson and starts for the sporting goods manufacturer Nike . Until 2006 he attended Lindenwood University , then Oklahoma Baptist University .
