history
Beginnings
Mikroboy was founded in 2003 as a solo project by Michael Ludes, who was the singer and guitarist of the band Reminder (participant in the Bundesvision Song Contest 2006 ). He first produced electronic music with synthesizers and published it on the Internet.
In 2007, while studying at the Pop Academy in Mannheim , Ludes began to implement his electronic music with instruments with fellow students Andreas Weizel ( bass ) and Florian Baum ( drums ). After Baum left the band in late 2007 and was replaced by Dominik Müller, Anneli Bentler ( synthesizer ) joined in early 2008 . A year later, Andreas Weizel left, and Kai Steffen Müller joined him as the new bass player.
After a tour of Germany, in March 2008, Mikroboy released the EP Up to the End , which was offered for download from Motor Digital and sold as a CD by the band in self-distribution .
Debut album Call it what you will.

In addition to 11 regular titles, This Room also includes a collaboration with Get Well Soon . The first single was "Out with the bad air, in with the good", for which a music video was made. Her single Out with the bad air, in with the good air, was played in an Aktion Mensch commercial .
The album received positive reviews from the critics. Laut.de compared Mikroboy with the Hamburg band Kettcar , the music often reminds of their early work and parallels can also be seen in the lyrics. The online service also saw similarities with ClickClickDecker in the combination of acoustic music with electronic sounds .
In summer and autumn 2009, Mikroboy played at the festivals Melt , Area 4 , Dockville and Omas Teich, among others .
In April 2010 the remix EP Vom Leben und Verinden was released. At the same time, the band announced the departure of Anneli Bentler and Dominik Müller. Bentler devoted himself to her solo career, with Müller health problems were decisive, due to which he was already partially canceled on the 2009 tour. Tobias Noormann was hired as the new drummer, and Thomas von Pescatore, who was already working as a sound engineer, could be won over for the electronic background music at live concerts . was involved.
In October 2010, Mikroboy took part in the Bundesvision Song Contest with the title Nothing is Free . The band competed for the Saarland, home of singer Michael Ludes, and finished penultimate with 12 points. In the run-up to the competition, a music video for Nothing is Free was released on August 23rd , the title was released as a single on September 24th, 2010.
