Omas Teich Festival (short: Omas Teich ) was a recurring annual two-day open air - music festival in Großefehn ( Ostfriesland ).

history

Casper at Grandma's Pond Festival 2011

The festival emerged in 1998 from a private party that initially took place at one of the organizers 'grandmothers' pools.

After 9,000 visitors in 2011 and a decrease in the number of visitors to 5600 in 2012, a five-digit number of visitors was expected for 2013. On July 23, 2013, the organizing company Lake-Events announced that the festival would not take place and that planning for follow-up events had been discontinued. The reason is a failed bridging financing of the business partner creative talent , who joined Omas Teich after the loss in 2012 in order to secure future financing. A preliminary bankruptcy petition was opened through the organizing Lake Events GmbH, which prevented the payment of the tickets that had already been purchased. Thereupon the organizers of the festivals Traffic Jam Open Air , Greenville Festival , Rocken am Brocken Festival , Mini-Rock-Festival and Rock den Lukas agreed to accept tickets for Grandma's pond. As of November 2013, the creditors had filed claims in the amount of EUR 815,000 with the insolvency administrator.
