Tim Neuhaus (* 1979 in Schwelm ) is a German drummer and singer-songwriter . He became known through his solo publications and as a member of the band around Clueso .

Career

Tim Neuhaus grew up in Hagen. He has been composing, producing and playing his own songs since he was 16. In 1998, he began a study focusing drums at the Academy of Music in Weimar . During his studies he worked on his own compositions for solo drums. He recorded this on his CD "one of a thousand ways" from 2003 and made a name for himself in the drumming world. After graduating, he became a drummer with the Blue Man Group in Berlin and London. Neuhaus was the drummer of the live band around Clueso from 2001 to 2004 and is then represented as a musician on his albums. In 2014 Tim got back into the Clueso band after having already played on the album Stadtrandlichter .

Neuhaus began his solo career as a singer-songwriter with the self-released debut album Yindi in 2005 . The follow-up work Blankets was published in 2007. On April 2, 2010, the EP A Spring Odyssey followed on the Hamburg label Grand Hotel van Cleef .

In addition to his solo activities, Neuhaus played e-drums with the band Hundreds . In 2011 he was a drummer in the studio and live album anger and tenderness of Konstantin Wecker . He also worked with indie and pop musicians such as Max Prosa , Ingo Pohlmann , Marcus Wiebusch , Kat Frankie , Nils Frahm , Max Herre , Ina Müller , Udo Lindenberg , Wolfgang Niedecken , Die Höchste Eisenbahn and Gisbert zu Knyphausen , but also international artists such as Glen Hansard , Joan Baez , Patti Smith and Kurt Rosenwinkel .

After numerous tours between 2011 and 2015, Neuhaus became a member of the TOUR OF TOURS, an indie rock big band consisting of a total of five bands (HONIG, Town of Saints, Ian Fisher, Jonas David, Tim Neuhaus) who play songs from each other and play with each other rearrange.

Neuhaus was instrumentalist, writer ( worry-free and memories remix) and co-producer for various bonus material on the album on the 2016 Clueso album Neuanfang . It reached number 1 on the German album charts.

In 2017 the first season of the series "Jerks" with Christian Ulmen appeared on German television. The soundtrack consists largely of a part for solo drums that Neuhaus recorded.

Others

In 2007 Neuhaus lived in London and played under the direction of the late Ken Campbell as a musician and actor in one of his experimental improv theater evenings .

In 2009 the German feature film Evet, I want! whose soundtrack included the songs Away , Blankets , In This World Controlled and Mailbox by Neuhaus.

In 2015 Dietrich Brüggemann's film " Heil ", a social satire, was released in the cinemas, to which Neuhaus contributed his own song, played a scene as a police officer and recorded the drums for the soundtrack (composed by Dietrich Brüggemann).
