The franc Straße ( L 509 ) is a country road in Upper Austria . It runs over a length of 28.3 km from Ried im Innkreis (junction Innkreis Autobahn  A 8, Rieder Straße  B 141 to the east and west) via Hausruck and the towns of Frankenburg am Hausruck and Redl - Zipf to Vöcklamarkt on Wiener Straße  ( B 1) .

The road connects the Innviertel with the Salzkammergut ( Attergau and the Atterseer region , via Attergau Strasse L 540) in a north-south course and is connected to Kobernaußer Strasse  (L 508) Ried– Straßwalchen and Hausruck Strasse  (B 143) Ried– Vöcklabruck and its branch, Tanzbodenstraße  (L 1071) to Schwanenstadt , one of the few built-up Hausruck and Kobernaußerwald crossings.

Course and expansion

Although the Frankenburger Landesstrasse never had the status of a federal road , it is one of the important roads that overcome the Hausruck / Kobernaußerwald traffic obstacle.

From Ried it follows the course of the Oberach , via Neuhofen im Innkreis , Pattigham and Pramet . The top of the pass is near Gaisedt ( Schildorn municipality ) at 647  m above sea level. A.  (km 12.5). Then it follows the valley of the Mühlbach (Ampflwanger Bach) via Frankenburg am Hausruck into the Vöcklatal near Redl-Zipf.

Today it has been expanded in line with the other crossings, but has obstructive local passages in Pramet (km 8.0–9.0) and Frankenburg (km 18.2–19.4) and is winding at the pass crossing compared to the other crossings.

history

As early as 1822, the road was used as an important military march route, as part of the routes from Altaussee / Ischl (Salzkammergut) to Passau , past Mondsee and St. Georgen (No. 344) or Gmunden , Schörfling (No. 346). Its length on the Frankenburg - Ried stage was given as 2¾ miles ( Austrian post miles of 7.59 km, so about 20.9 km), its expansion as a road and country road . The more easterly Hausruckstraße with its 50 meters higher pass crossing is more recent, Vöcklabruck became the district capital in 1868.

1867–1872 it was run as Ried Frankenburger Landesstraße (or Gemeindestraße), from 1873–1926 as Ried - Frankenburg - Redl Landesstraße (district road).

In 1956 a general renovation was undertaken on the entire Ried – Vöcklamarkt route.
The B 1 connection was redesigned in 1982.
In 2002, the Rieder end of the street was diverted and led under the Innviertelbahn and Salzkammergutbahn to the south-eastern roundabout, with a connection to the connection of Oberinnviertler Straße  L 503 with the bypass access to the B 141 ( Spange Ried I to the north-western roundabout, since 2000) and the northern bypass of Ried, which means that only the B 143 is not connected to a Ried outer ring, but instead runs through the city center. The old route to Ried station has since been referred to as Frankenburger Straße - Ried  L 509a branching out.
