Miles Goodman

Miles Goodman (born August 27, 1949 in Los Angeles , California , † August 16, 1996 in Brentwood , California) was an American composer , arranger and record producer .

Life

After Miles Goodman graduated in English from Antioch College in Ohio , he originally wanted to study Shakespeare in London , but a conversation with his cousin, Oscar winner and composer Johnny Mandel , moved him to return to Los Angeles , where he studied music and composition with Albert, among others Harris studied. He started "from scratch and had to learn Middle C to become a great musician," said the Brazilian jazz musician Oscar Castro-Neves , whom he met at an early age and with whom he had been at his side for almost thirty years made music.

As early as 1975 he was able to prove his first independent film composition with the soundtrack for the low-budget science fiction comedy Wam Bam Thank You Spaceman . In addition to television series, since then it has primarily been television films and occasionally also lighter films, often comedies, for which Goodman composed in the following years. His most famous works were among others La Bamba , Teenwolf , My partner with the cold snout and Sister Act 2 - In divine mission .

Goodman died on August 16, 1996 after a heart attack at St. John's Hospital and Medical Center in Santa Monica .
