Holtmann started in FIS races in her home country in November 2010 and was able to classify herself regularly in the front field at the beginning of 2011, after which she took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Liberec in February 2011 . There she was eliminated in both slalom and giant slalom . In March 2011 she achieved her first victory at an FIS Super-G in Kvitfjell . At the end of the season she became Norwegian junior champion in giant slalom in Hovden . On December 6, 2011, Holtmann competed in the European Cup with the slalom in Zinal , but was unable to qualify for the second run there. Even in the following five outings in this racing series, she could not classify herself in the points.
In 2012 the Norwegian was part of the Norwegian squad at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck , where she won the silver medal behind Austria in the team competition and failed in the Super-G. In the following season, Holtmann was mainly used in races in Norway and at the beginning of 2013 won two further national junior championship titles with Super-G and Slalom. Since the 2013/14 season she has regularly competed in the European Cup and on December 17, 2013 achieved 14th place in the downhill from St. Moritz, her best result so far. In the further course of the winter she became Norwegian junior champion for the fourth time in the Super-G and also took part in the Junior World Championship in Jasná , where her best result was eighth in the downhill. At the end of the season, she was Norwegian champion in Super-G.
On January 24, 2015, she was used for the first time in the World Cup on the downhill from St. Moritz , but was eliminated there. The following day, she scored her first World Cup points in the same place as 29th of the Super-G. Almost a month later, on February 17, 2015, she achieved her first podium finish in the European Cup as third in the Super-G in Davos . Almost two months later, she won three medals at the 2015 Junior World Championships in Hafjell : gold in the downhill, silver in the super-G and bronze in the combination . At the Norwegian championships she also won three medals at the end of the winter, including the downhill and super-G titles.
In the winter of 2015/16 she was unable to contest any races due to a broken leg shortly before the start of the World Cup and also missed the following season due to back problems. At the end of October 2017, she made her World Cup comeback at the giant slalom in Sölden , but was barely able to qualify for the second round. On December 29, 2018, she achieved her first top 10 placement in a World Cup race with 9th place in the Semmering slalom . She achieved her first World Cup podium in an individual race on December 17, 2019 with second place in the giant slalom in Courchevel .
