Häverstädt is part of the East Westphalian city ​​of Minden in North Rhine-Westphalia and is located southwest of the city center.

Häverstädt is located at the foot of the Wiehengebirge directly on the Häverstädter Berg . In the east, Häverstädt borders on the Barkhausen district of the city of Porta Westfalica with its large industrial park, in the northeast on the Bölhorst district , in the north on the Rodenbeck district and in the northwest and west on the Dützen district . In the south, the ridge of the Wiehengebirge forms the border with the Bad Oeynhauser district of Dehme .

Until the municipal reorganization on 1 January 1973 Häverstädt was an independent municipality in the Office Dützen of Minden with 2,380 inhabitants (31 December 1972).

Häverstädt is the location of the Minden Clinic of the Mühlenkreiskliniken ( Johannes Wesling Clinic). The Porta iron ore mine was closed in 1963.
