Dützen is a district of the East Westphalian city of Minden in North Rhine-Westphalia . On January 1, 1973, the independent community, which emerged from a village of the same name, was incorporated into the city of Minden.

Dützen is located southwest of downtown Minden ; in the east Dützen borders on the district of Häverstädt , in the north on the districts of Rodenbeck and Königstor , in the west on the district of Haddenhausen and in the south on the city of Bad Oeynhausen . Dützen is characterized by large agricultural areas. The district lies at the foot of the Wiehengebirge .

Mill house

The place Dützen was mentioned for the first time in 1090 as Duttison, the district Hummelbeck in 993. Until the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1973 Dützen was an independent municipality with a total area of approx. 6.15 km² and 3090 inhabitants (December 31, 1972) and belonged to the office of the same name Dützen and the district of Minden .

Mayor

Since 1973, the population of Dützen has been represented to the council and administration of the city of Minden by a mayor who is elected by the city council of Minden on the basis of the election result. Heinz Brauer is currently (2013) mayor.

Windmill Dützen

The exact date of construction of the "Hummelbecker Windmühle", as the Dützer Mühle has always been called after the oldest Dützer district, has not been established. Statements by the miller from Bölhorst at that time allow the conclusion that the mill was built between 1808 and 1813. Since the restoration between 1991 and 1993, the Wallholland with his high passage has again had a hood, a compass rose and wind-swept sail wings.

Potts Park
