The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport ( MBJS ) is the Ministry of Education of the State of Brandenburg , based in Potsdam, and one of its nine ministries . Since 20 November 2019 Britta Ernst ( SPD ) Minister of Education in the Cabinet Woidke III , Secretary of State is Ines Jesse .
history
In the first government of what was then the province of Brandenburg ( Cabinet Steinhoff I ), formed in 1945, no ministries existed. The 3rd Vice President Fritz Rücker was responsible for “popular education” . From the government that followed in 1946 until the state of Brandenburg was dissolved in 1952, there was an education ministry.
In order to re-establish the state of Brandenburg in 1990, the Ministry of Education was also re-established. In addition to the Ministry of Science , it is the only Brandenburg Ministry that has not been renamed since then and thus exists without any significant changes in responsibility.
Tasks and organization
The ministry is divided into the following departments:
- Department 1: budget , organization, IT, personnel, service law , school authority matters , implementation of the “ DigitalPakt Schule ”, school law , statistics, information management , principles of teacher recruitment
- Department 2: Children, Youth, Sport and Further Education
- Department 3: School and Teacher Training
