The Miouze is a river in France that runs in the Puy-de-Dôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises on the northwest flank of the volcanic cone Banne d'Ordanche (1512 m), in the municipality of Saint-Sauves-d'Auvergne , generally drains north-northeast on the western border of the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park and flows out after about 26 kilometers at the hamlet La Miouze , at the point of contact between the municipalities of Gelles , Saint-Pierre-Roche , Mazaye and Olby as a left tributary into the Sioule . Most of its route is accompanied by the Eygurande-Merlines-Clermont-Ferrand railway .
