Mazaye Town Hall (Mairie)

Mazaye (also Mazayes ) is a French municipality with 723 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). Mazaye belongs to the Arrondissement Issoire ( Clermont-Ferrand until 2017 ) and the Canton Orcines ( Rochefort-Montagne until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Mazayais .

geography

Mazaye is about 16 kilometers west of Clermont-Ferrand . Mazaye is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pierre-le-Chastel in the north and west, Saint-Ours-les-Roches in the north and north-east, Ceyssat in the east, Olby in the south and Gelles in the south-west. The Miouze flows into the Sioule at the point of contact between the municipalities of Gelles, Saint-Pierre-Roche, Mazaye and Olby .
