Saint-Diéry is a French municipality with 498 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Issoire and the canton of Le Sancy (until 2015 Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise ). The inhabitants are called Montacutins .

It was created as the Commune nouvelle of the same name with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the former municipalities of Saint-Diéry and Creste , which however do not have the status of Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative seat is in Saint-Diéry.

Saint-Diéry is located about 26 kilometers south-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand on the Couze Pavin in Limagne . Saint-Diéry is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Nectaire , Grandeyrolles in the north, Verrières in the northeast, Montaigut-le-Blanc , Saint-Floret and Saurier in the east, Courgoul in the southeast, Valbeleix in the south, Saint-Pierre-Colamine in the west and South-west, Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise to the west and Saint-Victor-la-Rivière to the west and north-west.
