Brassac-les-Mines is a French commune on the banks of the Allier in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes with an area of 720 hectares and 3,311 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017).

The coal mines that have existed since the 15th century , from which the city owes its name, have not been in operation since 1978.
