Saint-Jean-en-Val is a French commune with a population of 354 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Issoire and the Canton of Brassac-les-Mines (until 2015: Canton of Sauxillanges ). The inhabitants are called Jeanvalois .
geography
Saint-Jean-en-Val is located about 31 kilometers south-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand . The river Eau Mère runs along the western border of the municipality . Saint-Jean-en-Val is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sauxillanges in the north, Saint-Étienne-sur-Usson in the east, Bansat in the south, Saint-Rémy-de-Chargnat in the west and Usson in the west and northwest.
