geography
Orbeil is located about 31 kilometers south-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand . The Allier limits the community to the west. Orbeil is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Yronde-et-Buron in the north, Saint-Babel in the north-east, Aulhat-Flat in the east, Brenat in the south-east, Parentignat in the south, Issoire in the west and south-west and Saint-Yvoine in the west and north-west.
