Brenat is a French municipality with 622 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Issoire and the Canton of Issoire (until 2015: Canton Sauxillanges ). The inhabitants are called Brenatois .

geography

Brenat is located about 29 kilometers south-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand . Brenat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aulhat-Flat in the north, Saint-Quentin-sur-Sauxillanges in the east, Varennes-sur-Usson in the south, Parentignat in the west and south-west and Orbeil in the west and north-west.
