Montaigut-le-Blanc is a French municipality with 864 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Issoire and the canton of Le Sancy (until 2015 Champeix ). The inhabitants are called Montacutins .

Montaigut-le-Blanc is located about 24 kilometers south-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand on the Couze Chambon in Limagne . Montaigut-le-Blanc is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Olloix in the north and north-west, Ludesse in the north and north-east, Champeix in the east, Clémensat in the south-east, Saint-Floret in the south and south-east, Creste in the south-west, Grandreyrolles in the west and Saint-Nectaire in the West and northwest.
