Avèze is about 42 kilometers west-southwest of Clermont-Ferrand on the Dordogne . Avèze is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Messeix in the north and west, Saint-Sulpice in the north, Saint-Sauves-d'Auvergne in the east, Tauves in the south and Singles in the north-west.
