Saint-Yvoine is located about 25 kilometers south-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand . The Allier limits the community in the east. Saint-Yvoine is surrounded by the neighboring communities Sauvagnat-Sainte-Marthe in the north and north-west, Yronde-et-Buron in the north-east, Orbeil in the east and south-east, Issoire in the south, Pardines in the south-west and Chadeleuf in the west and north-west.
