Ternant-les-Eaux is about sixteen kilometers southwest of Issoire on the eastern slope of the Massif Central . Ternant-les-Eaux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vodable in the north, Mareugheol in the east, Saint-Hérent in the south and south-east and Dauzat-sur-Vodable in the west.
