Esteil is a French commune in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ) with 63 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Issoire and the canton of Brassac-les-Mines ( Jumeaux until 2015 ).

Esteil is located about 39 kilometers south-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand . Esteil is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Lamontgie in the north and northwest, La Chapelle-sur-Usson in the northeast, Saint-Jean-Saint-Gervais in the east and southeast, Jumeaux in the south and southwest and Auzat-la-Combelle in the west.
