Madriat is a French municipality with 109 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Issoire and the canton of Brassac-les-Mines .

geography

The municipality is located 13 kilometers southwest of Issoire and 25 kilometers northwest of Brioude on the eastern slope of the Massif Central . The Couze d'Ardes , a left tributary of the Allier, flows through the municipality . Madriat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Boudes in the north, Collanges in the east, Saint-Gervazy in the south-east, Augnat in the south, Rentières in the west and Saint-Hérent in the north-west. The districts of Brugère and Letz belong to Madriat . Near Brugère is at 843 m. ü. M. the highest point in the extreme northwest of the municipality. It is located just outside the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park .
