Saint-Sauves-d'Auvergne is a French commune with 1,133 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes in the department of Puy-de-Dome . It belongs to the canton of Le Sancy (until 2015: canton of Tauves ) in the Arrondissement of Issoire . The inhabitants are called Saint-Sauviens .

Saint-Sauves-d'Auvergne is located about 36 kilometers southwest of Clermont-Ferrand on the Dordogne . Saint-Sauves-d'Auvergne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Julien-Puy-Lavèze in the north, Laqueuille in the northeast, Murat-le-Quaire in the east, La Bourboule in the east and southeast, La Tour-d'Auvergne in the south, Tauves in the southwest, Avèze in the west and Saint-Sulpice in the northwest.
