Saint-Sauves-d'Auvergne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Julien-Puy-Lavèze in the north, Laqueuille in the northeast, Murat-le-Quaire in the east, La Bourboule in the east and southeast, La Tour-d'Auvergne in the south, Tauves in the southwest, Avèze in the west and Saint-Sulpice in the northwest.
