Saint-Hérent is a French municipality with 114 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Issoire and the canton of Brassac-les-Mines (until 2015 Ardes ).

Saint-Hérent is located about 13 kilometers southwest of Issoire on the eastern slope of the Massif Central . Saint-Hérent is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ternant-les-Eaux and Mareugheol in the north, Villeneuve in the northeast, Boudes in the east, Madriat in the southeast, Ardes in the south, La Chapelle-Marcousse in the southwest and Dauzat-sur-Vodable in the west and northwest .
