Tauves ( Occitan : Taova ) is a French municipality with 780 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes in the department of Puy-de-Dome . It belongs to the canton of Le Sancy (until 2015: canton of Tauves ) in the Arrondissement of Issoire . The inhabitants are called Laquais or Tauvois .

geography

Tauves is about 42 kilometers southwest of Clermont-Ferrand . Tauves is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Avèze in the north, Saint-Sauves-d'Auvergne in the northeast, La Tour-d'Auvergne in the east and southeast, Bagnols in the south, Larodde in the southwest and Singles in the west.
