geography

The mountain village is located in the volcanic landscape of the Monts Dore on the department road 996 near the volcanic lake Lac Chambon .

history

The place is mentioned as Murolium in 1145 . The Chamba family ruled there in the 13th century, then the d'Estaing family from the 14th to the 18th century.
