Saint-Donat is about 44 kilometers southwest of Clermont-Ferrand . Saint-Donat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chastreix in the north and north-east, Picherande in the east, Saint-Genès-Champespe in the south and south-east, Champs-sur-Tarentaine-Marchal in the south-west, Cros in the west and Bagnols in the north-west.
