Augnat is 41 kilometers south-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand on the eastern slope of the Massif Central . Augnat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Madriat in the north, Saint-Gervazy in the east, Apchat in the south, Ardes in the west and south-west and Rentières in the west and north-west.
