Mirek Pyschny (* 1977 in Katowice ) is a German jazz and improvisation musician of Polish descent ( drums , percussion).

Live and act

Pyschny first played the piano as a child, before he learned the violin at the age of six and switched to drums at the age of eleven. He majored in jazz drums with Keith Copeland at the Cologne University of Music (graduated in 2005). Since then he has worked a. a. with Paul Reddick , Arve Henriksen , the Schäl Sick Brass Band , Philip Zoubek , Dani Felber , East Affair , Tabadoul Orchestra , Thomas Rückert , Matthias Muche , Raimund Kroboth , Bodek Janke , Nicolas Simion , Martin Schulte Quartet (with Peter Ehwald and Matthias Akeo Nowak ) and the NRW Youth Jazz Orchestra ; He also worked on recordings by Samy Deluxe , Terrence Ngassa and Kathrin Scheer . Since 2011 he has been teaching drums / drum sets at the Musikhochschule Köln, Wuppertal department , as the successor to Andy Gillmann . Together with the trumpeter and live electronics technician Pablo Giw , he forms the duo DUS-TI , which performed in 2012 at the Moers Festival . In 2013 he founded the music label Ti-Records together with Pablo Giw. Since 2014 he has been teaching drums / drum sets at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal .
