The Mole River is a river in the north of the Australian state of New South Wales .

The source is in the Great Dividing Range between Glen Innes and Tenterfield in the northern part of the New England Highlands . The Mole River flows to the northwest and flows into the Dumaresq River at Mole River , a tributary of the headwaters of the Darling River .

The area through which the Mole River flows is mountainous, rocky, and rather inaccessible.

The Tenterfield Shire administration is planning a reservoir on the Mole River.
