The Molkenberg is 293  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Hessischer Spessart nature park , which rises immediately southwest of the town center of Bad Orb in the Main-Kinzig district in southern Hesse . It falls on all sides steeply into the surrounding valleys and goes only to the south with little loss of altitude in the by Horst outgoing heights above.

The Molkenberg is known as the location of the nine-meter-high listed tower , a landmark of Bad Orb. It used to be part of the city fortifications as an observation tower. According to legend, Peter von Orb was imprisoned here. In later times the dilapidated observation tower was rebuilt and today serves as a touristic observation tower with a view over the city and north to the Vogelsberg with the Hoherodskopf .

Every year, if the weather is good, a mountain mass takes place on the Molkenberg on the evening of June 24th, followed by the burning of the St. John's fire.

The Molkenberg is largely undeveloped and covered with light forest and meadows. The public access road to the former Café Wartturm leads from downtown Bad Orb almost to the summit.
