Momir Rnić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Момир Рнић ; born November 1, 1987 in Zrenjanin , SR Serbia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian handball player .
Career
The 1.96 meter tall and 97 kilogram heavy left backcourt player was under contract with RK Celje until 2011 . Before that he played for RK Proleter Zrenjanin and RK Velenje . With these clubs he played in the EHF Cup (2007/08, 2008/09) and in the EHF Champions League (2009/10). On April 14, 2011, the German Bundesliga club Frisch Auf Göppingen announced its commitment to the 2011/2012 season. With Göppingen, he won the EHF Cup in 2012 . Rnić did not extend his contract with Göppingen, which expired in 2014, and joined MT Melsungen for the 2014/15 season . In the 2017/18 season he was under contract with the Rhein-Neckar Löwen , with whom he won the DHB Supercup in 2017 and the DHB Cup in 2018 . In summer 2018 he returned to the RK Proleter Zrenjanin. From the 2020/21 season he will be under contract with the Macedonian first division club RK Metalurg Skopje .
Momir Rnić is part of the Serbian national team , for example for the European Handball Championship in 2014 and 2010 and the 2011 World Championship ; by December 2013, he played 75 international matches , in which he threw 126 goals. In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London .
Others
His father of the same name, Momir Rnić, played for TV Niederwürzbach in the late 1980s . In his youth, Momir Rnić Jr. played for DJK Oberthal in Germany while his father trained for TV Altenkessel.
