Mons Røisland (born January 28, 1997 ) is a Norwegian snowboarder . He starts in the disciplines of slopestyle and big air .

Career

Røisland has been participating in the TTR World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2011 . He achieved his first podium finish in January 2012 at the World Rookie Fest in Livigno with third place in slopestyle. In January 2014, he took third place in slopestyle at the Burton European Open in Laax . In the 2014/15 season he won the Nanshan Open in Beijing and the Völkl World Rookie Finals in Ischgl and came second in the Slopestyle at the Pamporovo Freestyle Open. The following season he came 14th at Air & Style in Beijing and Innsbruck and 23rd in Los Angeles . At the Winter X Games 2016 in Aspen , he won the bronze medal in slopestyle. He made his debut in the Snowboard World Cup in Boston in February 2016 . He finished sixth in Big Air. In the same month he came ninth in Big Air at the X-Games Oslo 2016. At the Snowboard World Championships 2016 in Yabuli , he was eighth in Slopestyle. In January 2017 he won his first World Cup victory in the Slopestyle on Kreischberg and thus reached eighth place in the Slopestyle World Cup at the end of the season. At the Winter X-Games 2017 he was sixth in slopestyle and at the X-Games Norway 2017 in Hafjell, he was tenth in big air and eighth in slopestyle. In March 2017 he finished 20th in Big Air at the Snowboard World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada . In the 2017/18 season he won his second World Cup victory in Big Air in Copper Mountain and was 12th at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang Place in slopestyle. He also finished third in slopestyle at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge and took 16th place in slopestyle and seventh place in Big Air at the 2018 Winter X-Games and 14th place at the X-Games Norway 2018 in Fornebu in big air.

After third places in Big Air at the World Cup in Cardrona and at the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge at the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Røisland won his third World Cup victory in slopestyle in Copper Mountain. At the Winter X Games 2019 , he won the bronze medal in slopestyle. At the Snowboard World Championships 2019 in Park City he was seventh in slopestyle and at the X-Games Norway 2019 tenth in Big Air. The following year he won the silver medal in slopestyle at the Winter X-Games and won the X-Games Norway in Hafjell finished fifth in slopestyle and fourth in big air.
