The 4th Montevizija took place on February 9, 2019 and was the Montenegrin preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv , Israel .

format

concept

As in the previous year , five participants should take part in the preliminary decision. The winner will then be determined in two voting rounds. In the first round there are a total of four groups entitled to vote. A jury (25%), an international jury (25%), a radio jury (25%) and the televoting (25%) choose the placements in the first voting round. The two best placed participants then move to the superfinals. Whoever receives the most votes there wins the preliminary decision and can then represent Montenegro at the ESC 2019.

International jury

On February 9, 2019, RTCG presented the international jury, which consists of five former Eurovision Song Contest participants and a television representative.

Choice of contribution

From October 28, 2018 to November 28, 2018, contributions could be submitted to RTCG . In contrast to the previous year, this year not only contributions in Montenegrin and other regional languages but also contributions in English could be submitted. Otherwise composers were allowed to submit again regardless of their origin.

On December 5th, RTCG announced that they had received a total of 27 entries, ten of which only complied with the rules. The jury, which listened to all contributions, consisted of the following people:

  • Slaven Knezović (music editor , composer of the Montenegrin contribution 2007 “Ajde kroči” and the contribution of Serbia and Montenegro 2005 “Zauvijek Moja”)
  • Vladimir Maraš (music editor)
  • Aleksandra Vojvodić Jovović (music and singing teacher)
  • Slobodan Bučevac (composer of the song Yugoslav contribution 1984 Čao amore )
  • Mihailo Radonjić (music producer, composer and arranger)

During the first round of evaluation, the contributions were given identification numbers. Only after the selection of the songs for the next round were the names of the composers assigned to the contributions. The songs were rated according to the following criteria:

  • Composition: up to a maximum of 50 points
  • Text: up to a maximum of 30 points
  • Production potential: up to a maximum of 20 points

The five entries with the most points then go to the preliminary round.

Attendees

On December 18, 2018, RTCG presented the five participants in the preliminary round. Among them are Andrea Demirović , who represented Montenegro in 2009 , as well as Nina Petković and Ivana Popović-Martinović, who already took part in the Montevizija in 2018 .

The songs were released on February 2, 2019.
