Former town hall (Mairie) of Montigné

Montigné is a village and a former French community with 177 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Cognac and the canton of Val de Nouère (until 2015 Rouillac ). The inhabitants are called Montignéens .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Auge-Saint-Médard , Anville , Bonneville and Montigné were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Val-d'Auge and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Auge-Saint-Médard.

Montigné is about 26 kilometers north-northwest of Angoulême . Montigné is surrounded by the villages of Auge-Saint-Médard in the north and north-west, Bonneville in the east and north-east, Gourville in the east, Rouillac in the south and west and Anville in the west.
