The Municipio Caiza "D" is a district in the Potosí Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Caiza "D" is one of three municipalities in the province of José María Linares . It borders on the province of Tomás Frías to the north, the province of Antonio Quijarro to the west, the province of Nor Chichas to the south , and the municipality of Puna to the east . It extends for about 55 kilometers in a north-south and 45 kilometers in an east-west direction.

The central place of the municipality is the village Caiza "D" with 1,324 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the center of the district, the only town in the municipality is Tres Cruces with 2,468 inhabitants.

The municipality of Caiza "D" is located on the southeastern edge of the barren plateau of the Bolivian Altiplano . The climate is cool and dry because of the inland location and is characterized by a typical daytime climate, in which the temperature fluctuations between day and night are usually significantly greater than the seasonal fluctuations.
