The municipality Machacamarca is a district in the Oruro department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality Machacamarca is one of two municipalities in the province of Pantaleón Dalence . It borders the province of Cercado to the north and west , the province of Poopó to the south , and the municipality of Huanuni to the east .
The central place of the municipality is the small town Machacamarca with 2,749 inhabitants ( 2012 ) on Lake Uru-Uru in the central area of the district.

The municipality of Machacamarca is located on the eastern edge of the Bolivian Altiplano and includes parts of the Cordillera Azanaques , which belongs to the Cordillera Central . The municipality is traversed by the Río Huanuni , which flows into the Uru-Uru Lake . The climate is cold and dry, the vegetation that of the puna .
