Muroto is located southeast of Kōchi on the Pacific Ocean . Tosa Bay extends to the west .

history

Muroto was founded on March 1st, 1959 . The asteroid (4439) Muroto, discovered on November 2, 1984, has been named after the city since July 1995 .
