Myke Michel Ribeiro de Carvalho (born October 28, 1983 in Belém ) is a former Brazilian boxer . As an amateur, he was a participant in the 2004 , 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games .

Career

National

Myke Carvalho is Brazilian champion in 2001 in bantamweight and 2003 in lightweight. From 2004 to 2009 he won the light welterweight title six times in a row.

America

In 2002 he won the silver medal in featherweight at the South American Games in Brazil. In 2005 he won a bronze light welterweight medal at the Pan American Championships in Brazil and in 2006 the gold medal in the light welterweight division at the South American Games in Argentina .

In 2007 he won a bronze light welterweight medal at the Pan American Games in Brazil, when he was knocked out in the semifinals 8: 9 against Karl Dargan. In 2009 in Mexico he won bronze in the light welterweight division at the Pan American Championships after a semi-final defeat with 7:10 against Roniel Iglesias .

In 2010 he won gold in the light welterweight at the South American Games in Colombia and also gold in the welterweight at the Pan American Championships in Ecuador through victories and. a. against Óscar Molina and Carlos Banteur . In 2011 he was eliminated against Banteur with a 14: 14+ in the semi-finals of the Pan American Games in Mexico and won bronze in the welterweight division.

World Championships / Olympic Games

In 2004 he took part in the Olympic Games in Athens and was eliminated in the opening match against Alex de Jesús (24:39). His first World Cup participation was in China in 2005 , where he was only defeated in the quarterfinals against Emil Magerramow at 19:28.

At the 2007 World Championships in the USA he lost in the second preliminary round against Gyula Káté with 14:24. Then he was again at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , but lost again in the first fight against Richarno Colin with 11:15.

He finished the 2009 World Championships in Italy in the round of 16 after another defeat against Gyula Káté (8:10) after he had previously defeated Genebert Basadre and Manoj Kumar . He was also defeated in the preliminary round of the 2011 World Championships in Azerbaijan by disqualification against Vasile Belous . At the 2011 Military World Games in Brazil, he won welterweight bronze by losing to Alexis Vastine in the semi-finals .

In May 2012 he won the American welterweight Olympic qualification in Brazil by defeating Raúl Sánchez, Arisnoide Despaigne , Prichard Colón, Carlos Sánchez and Óscar Molina . He then took part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London , where he failed in the first fight against Errol Spence with 10:16.
