LEDA / PGC 12687 (also NGC 1316B ) is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 871 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years across. Under the catalog number FCCB 192, it is one of the background galaxies of the Fornax galaxy cluster . Together with PGC 12686 and PGC 95472 it forms an optical galaxy trio .
The galaxies NGC 1316 , NGC 1317 , NGC 1318 , NGC 1326 are located in the same area of the sky .
